Rt/me - Broken Gaze
Since gaze is apparantly broken and i dont know for how long, i decided to take advantage of the fact using some mes skills to push gaze to the limits (uh ...sort of).
(note: this build is just a bit of fun playing with gaze not ment to be serious though it does dish out alot of dmg )
Channeling: 16 (12 +1 +3)
Spawning: 11 (10 + 1)
Inspiration: 8
Points left: 5
Gaze From Beyond
Arcane Echo
Essence Strike
Spirit Burn
Destruction
Manta of Resolve
Echo {e}
Rez Sig
Basic useage : Throw on mantra of resolve and cast destruction near your enemies (just out of agro range works well), when destruction is up use arcane echo then pick a target to decimate. Now you found some unfortunate soul to hurt hit him with gaze from beyond (make sure to stay within agro range of your spirit) then cast echo and hit him with the gaze that should now be in slot 2 ( the one copied by arcane echo) , now you should have a 3rd gaze so hit him with that then finish with spirit burns and essence strikes (also good for keeping up your energy).
Other Tricks:
If your going into an area with little or no interupts take out MoR and put in ghostly haste for even quicker ownage. (And remember to put your points from inspiration into spawning power).
Another good alternative to MoR is Spirit to Flesh since you can basicly use it as a detonator for destruction, but one that heals nearby team mates
Enjoy !

I thought something similar yesterday. And yes Gaze is so broken and i fully expect it to be nerfed. Anyway here is my idea:
Three Gaze rits in 8v8 or 12v12. Everyone has three skills Arcane echo, Gaze and Anguished was Lingwah. Before battle cast Anguished, in appropriate time cast a. echo, choose target and close to range, drop ashes, cast gaze and echoed gaze. Casting gazes takes c. 2 seconds and deals 134 + 134=268 armor ignoring damage. Multiple that with 3=796 dmg in little bit over 2 seconds. Opponent should be dead by now. And it takes only 15 + 5 + 5=25 energy to do that (excluding Lingwahs casting cost). Rest of the skill bar could be anything but i would put Mantra of Resolve somewhere. For example standard ritual lord build could easily make room for the combo or somekind artillery build could be very feasible also. I could think lots of different variations (only 1 or 2 rits bring Lingwah, others bring life or shelter etc..).
I would dearly love to try this in PvP but i don´t have enough active guild members so if anyone is intrested to test this drop me a note here or in game IGN Logos The Unreal. I play in european servers.

Go Rt/E -> Glyph of Renewal + Gaze-> less demanding on the nrg and just as effective. It also doesn't have the annoying Echo cooldown. Plus you can toss in some Earth and Obs Flame and the 2 Crystal Waves, for some massive armor ignoring damage.

I'm sorry but I don't think Gaze is broken at all. Just that the description needs help. I mean, Obsidian spike is still beter than this. Why?
5 second recharge. It's damn expensive sure (exhaustion) but a natural 5 second recharge well help you 'kill' and opponent. Fiddiling with Echo and Glyphs is costly to both time and energy. It just takes too long. Especially if the enemy brings Shelter or a Prot. spirit spamming monk.
For ridiculous armour ignoring damage, look no further than the necro. Or rather the Touch Ranger _-_. 2 of those bastards can wipe out any character. Especially with the new factions skills/duplicates.

gaze is broken becuase it says it does lightning dmg in the description when in actual fact it does armor ignoring dmg. (or it did ...have'nt tried it for ages )
And yeah i was thinking (and hoping) that it might be description error.

It does ignore armor but you must have a spirit in the area to steal the life and convert into dmg.

spoke to you in-game (Jace Ventro), this is the build ive been using:
1. Mighty was Vorizun
2. Destruction
3. Arcane Echo
4. Gaze From Beyond
5. Echo
6. Channeled Strike
7. Spirit Rift
8. Weapon of Warding
I dont have runes especially for this build yet so channeling could get a bonus and cause even more dmg.
The way i was using this was, cast {1}, run into the area of enemies and {2}, then {3}, {4}, {5}, {3}, {5}. With a channeling staff this would work even better because theres a chance that the recharge of Gaze would be halved meaning u could repeat the echo'd ones, atm arcane ran out as I tried to cast it but Echo would still have enough time left after Gaze had recharged.
The other skills are just support because there is a 30 second turnaround before this can be repeated again succesfully, or channeling strike can be used to finish off a near dead foe, you shoul dbe holding an item anyway so the bonus will apply. Overall it works pretty well and aslong as the spirit was still alive i could continue but occasionally i think it would die during a gaze so it wouldnt do as much dmg, or i would forget to make sure the spirit was still alive. Managed to cause some serious troubles in AB today in the 2 times i tested this killed monks and necros on one run through sometimes (with a little help of course) and cause a lot of dmg to warriors, i think the best spike i done was against a necro that had 3/4 health and running from battle and i gazed him to death before he got very far.
@12 channeling i do 102 dmg per gaze and with a min of 3 thats 306 in 3 seconds. Theres a slight pause after the first one because it has to be Echo'd then after that 2 more come and if your lucky enough to have a channeling staff you might be able to link another 1 or 2 onto that prob killing most people quite easily.
Concerns:
Initial energy cost is quite high and thats the reason for Mighty was, in tests a single run only took me down to maybe 20 energy so i tried to use the urn that you drop and it does lightning dmg (cant remember the name ) but with the loss of my weapon energy bonus and the initial cost of arcane echo and tryin to run through the spike it was too much, it could work if it was cast before battle but overall i preferred Mighty because i could run through the spike more then once if i had 2 r use my other atk skills afterwards while i was waiting for the recharge.
Would work better if there was another Rt in the area because you dont have to worry about killing your spirit or summoning one
looking for ways to improve this but with the skills i have atm this was the best i got

I wouldn't mind trying GoR Rt/E spike. Rt can be used for heals and damage; Ele for Wards, GoR. I betcha sooner or later some1 will sit down and make a build like that for Halls.
